Kenny Ray Brailsford, age 43, died tragically October 28th, 2011, his life being cut short in a fatal automobile accident.

Kenny was born June 5th, 1968 in Provo Utah to Kenneth Earl Brailsford and Linda Hughes Brailsford. Kenny graduated from Springville High School in 1986.

After graduating from high school Kenny served a two-year mission in Portland, Oregon for The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

He attended Utah Valley University for two years where he studied computer science. Kenny later returned to further his education at Utah College of Massage Therapy and became an accomplished massage therapist. Kenny was the 2nd employee of Enrich International while he was still attending high school at Springville High. His role initiated in the shipping the department and as the company grew Kenny advanced his responsibilities into the IT department. He recently worked as a consultant for Zija International.

He is survived by his parents; Kenneth & Linda Brailsford of Salt Lake City. He was the eldest of six children and survived by his five siblings; Sheri Cutler (Scott), John Robert Brailsford (Michelle), Lisa Janda (Mark), Becky Palmer (Ryan), Steve Brailsford (Amy).

Kenny loved the company of others and enjoyed spending time with friends and familly. He was loved by all those who he associated with and will be missed by all. He will be always remembered and never forgotten.

A memorial service will be held in his honor at 1:30 PM on Wednesday, November 2nd, at the Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary located at 495 South State Street Orem, Utah.

The viewing will be held at the same location from 12:00 PM to 1:15 PM.

Interment will be in the Provo City Cemetery.

Items to: Completely Avoid, Shy Away From and "Go For It"
I am often asked why Zija® International provides so much technical support to its distributors. My answer is simple, "We truly care about everyone‟s health, and to those whom you equally share these wonderful and nutritious Moringa products with." This „share‟ concept is not ours; it is our Founder‟s, Mr. Ken Brailsford. With that thought in mind, this one word truly is the basis for our slogan: "DRINK LIFE IN" (SM). There is not any other single source of truly absorbable complete nutrition available from just one plant, (that IS provided in all Zija® products by Moringa oleifera). Due to the many questions, emails, and phone calls that we receive, I felt that it would be prudent to distribute to the group, my thoughts about how we should all look at our daily diets. I feel that there is one piece of the puzzle we really have not yet given you, until now; a simple list of suggestions on other aspects of your diet, for your consideration. I want you to take these considerations to heart in the effort of helping us all attain the most vibrant health and vitality that is possible for us to receive. After we have "Drank Life In" lets give our bodies the potential to live life, and not to be in a position to fight the poisons, toxins, impurities and the other health stealing ingredients that are in most processed foods. Please remember that we must take into consideration and understand that the "Western" diets have been proven far from being complete, and that we all need to be good managers of our own health, and well being in the foods that we consume. We only have one body in which to live, so let‟s make it the healthiest body that we can! So here is the other puzzle piece. In this briefing, I am going to group these suggestions into three different groups for simplicity sake:


1. Items to Completely Avoid At All Times 2. Items to Shy Away From, and 3. Items to "Go For It" (In Moderation), For Your Specific Health Circumstances About now you are probably asking yourselves, where is "Uncle Russ" going with all of this? Why do I have to give up what I like? Is this going to be hard? His answer to us is simply this: Do not worry! He is merely trying to steer all of us back to delicious and wholesome food and beverage options with the use of Zija‟s® pure nutrition, and away from those products or brands that will harm our overall health! OK, here it goes, and by no means are these lists comprehensive and/or complete. They are merely an indicator of what may help us in our own habits, and/or those to whom we share these suggestions with. They are based on sound science, with known human wellness benefits.


1. ITEMS TO AVOID AT ALL TIMES:
 • Sodas, regular or diet (fattening, heart unhealthy) • Diet sweeteners in the pink, yellow, blue, green or other little packets – (poison in a packet) • Tobacco (cancer causing, expensive) • Recreational drugs (addictive, mentally impairing, physically dangerous, financially devastating, illegal) • Junk food (what part about „junk‟ do you not understand?) • Fast food (if it‟s fast, or low cost, it‟s typically not nutritious and has empty calories) • Microwavable food (alters the molecular content and nutrition of heated food or liquids) • Soft Plastic Bottled Water (harmful chemical called BPA in the plastic that gets into the water) • Candy (rots your teeth, medically linked to diabetes) • Peanuts (inflammatory inducing, allergenic) • Most Ice Creams (fattening, a chemistry set of bad for you ingredients) • Pastry (sugary baked goods that are fattening, and yes, that does include cookies) • Deep Fried Foods (donuts & fries unfortunately they are fattening and cancer causing) • High Fructose Corn Syrup Or Agave (triggers large elevation in blood triglycerides & serious weight gain) • Excessive "Table" Salt (heart and blood pressure damaging) • Mainstream Energy Drinks (heart damaging, central nervous system damaging) • Tooth & Oral Care Whiteners (will make your tooth enamel brittle and increase your chances of broken teeth and dental care problems) • Mainstream Shampoos, Soap, Detergents, Perfumes, Colognes, Deodorants, & Cosmetics (many contain harmful cancer causing ingredients) • Mainstream Breath Sprays, Mints and Mouthwashes (many typical use harmful and chemically based cancer causing sweeteners, colorings, and bulk agents) • Chewing Gums, Sugar-Free Or Regular (if you did not bring enough for the entire Zija® Family of distributors, you cannot chew either) • Excessive Alcohol (highly caloric and fattening, empty calories, judgment impairing, highly inflammatory inducing, blood depressant, toxic)

Biggest Loser - Heather Hansen

Three years ago I was wearing a size 22 jeans, weighing in at over 220 pounds when I came to the realization this was not the way I wanted to live my life. I didn’t just wake up and look at myself and say “OK, that’s it you’re just getting too fat,” I had to have a near death experience.
Earlier that day my 1 year old daughter (Bella) had climbed up the slide at McDonald’s playland and got stuck. As Bella screamed for me to help her I remember begging God to help her get out by herself…
Unfortunately That Didn’t Happen.
There I was, a big chub trying to wedge myself up a slide to rescue my little one from harm; complete and total embarrassment! I could feel the stares as I prayed “Please let this be a dream.” As I climbed out I heard and see a few people clapping as they chuckled to themselves.
copy box 220 pounds About HeatherI wish I knew earlier how desperate my situation was but in all honesty I just didn’t think I looked all that bad. Getting stuck in McDonald’s playland was enough of a near death experience for me; because at that very moment I really wanted to die. It took me a couple weeks before I came up with a fool proof plan of getting my weight off.
One night as my husband and I sat on the couch stuffing our faces with ice cream and watching our favorite show “The Biggest Loser,” it hit me. The contestants start out pretty overweight and in the end they come back looking great. I had finally gotten the fail proof diet for me, all I had to do was get on the show.
The next day I called NBC to ask about some the logistics to getting on the show, I was surprised when I was told over 400,000 people would try out and I didn’t have much of a shot. I knew at that moment I needed to make an amazing audition video that would show NBC how desperate I was for their help.
I made it, the rest has been an amazing success story!

I’ve also been featured in many national magazines including Prevention Magazine (three times! —December 2006, October 2007, and May 2007). I was also featured in First Magazine in April 2008.
I graduated from Brigham Young University in 1993 with a degree in Marketing and a Business minor. I now have more than 10 years of marketing experience working with several national clients including Southwest Airlines, Blockbuster and Coke, and have worked with many local companies in Utah, the wonderful state we call home.
An entrepreneur at heart, I own an insurance agency and am focused on helping people across the country live their dreams and become financially independent.

A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words…
In the collage above, the bottom left photo in the pink sports bra was taken the year after my daughter was born… I can’t believe I gained back nearly all the weight I had lost during my tenure on The Biggest Loser!

How Did I Do It?
I met a man with a vision & a product. Life as I knew it radically changed.
As I’m sure you already know, I was a finalist on Season 3 of NBC’s The Biggest Loser and was 5 months pregnant at the finale. After our daughter was born, I thought I could just keep my weight off because I had been on the Biggest Loser….boy was I wrong. Weight Management wasn’t so easy without the endless resources available during the television show!
I had worked so long and hard to get this weight off and in 1 year from leaving the show it was almost all back. My breaking point came when my weight reached over 200 pounds, again. It seemed all my efforts had been in vain! I knew I hated exercising, and had very little time for daily work outs so I came to the realization that I had to control my food intake and learn to better manage my weight.
Initially, I found over the counter products I sorta liked, and I did lose a little weight. However the pieces of my puzzle didn’t fall into place until I met Ken Brailsford of Zija International. That day my eyes were opened and my taste buds exploded! I knew my life had changed forever….for the better.
This is Where my Real Story Begins…

If I would tell you that science has discovered and characterized an amazing edible plant, loaded with most nutrients that we need (all essential amino acids, beneficial fats and omega oils, rich amounts of calcium and iron and many other vital minerals, as well as a wide variety and copious amounts of vitamins, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory substances) but very few calories attached to it, what would you say ? And here is where I should start my hard work as a crusader for the “Miracle Tree”, or “Miracle Food” – Moringa oleifera.



Well, fair to say that this plant was known and used by some populations for thousands of years, but it has not really penetrated the Westerners markets yet, with few exceptions. Nevertheless, when I started to work in this project which culminated with the writing of the book “Miracle Tree”, I knew nothing about Moringa, despite my formal training in botany and plant pharmacology. No surprise here, science has described less than 1-2 % of all existing plants on the planet so far, but even on those described knowledge is rather incomplete. (I hope we will get to research most of these leafy Earth co-habitants and neighbors before we exterminate them by pollution or habitat disappearance!). The more I studied and researched Moringa, the more amazed and intrigued I was. The main question still obsesses me: WHY don’t’ we know more about this plant and why don’t we grow it or import it for daily availability? Let me present you quickly some facts and science about this plant and let you decide whether I am righteously intrigued and amazed or not.



Moringa oleifera (Moringaceae ) is a tree that can amazingly grow 5-6 meters (yards) in a year, despite minimum rainfall. Actually, Moringa o. is the most studied of 14 species of Moringa trees, originally from Arabia and India (South of Himalayan Mountains). Today Moringa is common all over the tropics, from South Asia to West and East Africa, in South and Central America. Historically, there is evidence that cultivation of Moringa in India dates back thousands of years, and the traditional Ayurvedic medicine used this tree to heal or prevent hundreds of diseases. Closer to our times, scientific evidence has accumulated to endorse many of the healing properties of Moringa, since some of its chemical compounds were isolated and described. Due to its numerous healing and nutritious properties, Moringa is surrounded around the world by legends and praise, awe, and respect, clearly suggested by affectionate names such as: “Miracle Tree,” “Mother’s Best Friend,” and “Never Die.” It was more than overwhelming to learn about Moringa, and, during this process, I came to love and talk about it as a close friend.



I have to underline that all my work and research so far have been on pharmacology, health, nutrition, environmental medicine and prevention of disease. It might sound as a lot of areas, but I view them all as overlapping and intrinsically linked together. Consequently, I believe we, Westerners are much too much focused on treatment of disease and tragically neglect prevention. With few exceptions, our “health care”, as practiced, is actually “disease care”. True(body and mental) health - defined not only as the lack of disease, but also as by a well-balanced state of mind, boundless energy and creativity - is rarely covered or described in the medical courses and curriculum. In addition, how to achieve that ideal health is even less clear from the medical text books and teachings. Personally, I cannot think of anything more important to general health than a wholesome, clean of pollutants, complete nutrition, characterized by a complex variety of nutrients easily digestible and bioavailable. Their rich combinations, as found in plant sources and as “intended” and “grown” by nature, were used by our ancestors or omnivorous relatives, for eons, and worked just fine to support our development and evolution, without the sad consequences of the “modern” diet to which we seem to succumb by cancer and heart disease. Vitamins pills (with possible problems associated with toxic levels and accumulation) were not needed, as plant-based diets include all the necessary nutrients and more (antioxidant and anti-aging phytochemicals), in fine balance and subtle combinations that synergise and enhance each-other’s properties.



Among all the plants I know I cannot think of a more nutritious one than Moringa. And while I am definitely supporting a diet including a wide variety of plants, mostly un-cooked (in order to preserve the activity of enzymes, vitamins and phytochemicals), I believe that Moringa (leaves, pods, fruits) should be used as often as possible. One plant has it all! One-stop nutrients supply with few calories or salt.



Briefly:

- In comparable amounts (gram per gram), Moringa contains four times more vitamin C than oranges, three times the iron of spinach, and four times the calcium found in milk! Vitamins B1, B2, E, pro-vitamin A are also present in significant quantities that might make oranges or carrots pale by comparison. Other vitamins and micro- or macroelements (such as selenium, manganese, sulfur, magnesium, potassium, copper) are also found in Moringa.



- Combine these with significant amounts of proteins - actually ALL essential amino acids are found in Moringa in at least comparable amounts with soy, and in favorable proportions.



- Moringa seeds are rich in an excellent oil, very similar in quality and composition with olive oil, one of the healthiest, most studied fats. The replacement of animal fats in the diet with vegetal fats such as olive or related oils, has been clearly linked with beneficial health effects and reduction in cardiovascular diseases and cancers.



- Plant pigments (flavonoids) such as rutin and quercetin, and other beneficial phytochemicals (lutein, caffeoylquinic acids) to name just a few, are present in Moringa. These substances act as antioxidant, anti-aging or protect various tissues (retina, liver, blood vessels) from age-related damage and disease.



- Moringa leaves and pods add very few calories and salt to the rich variety of nutrients, making them appropriate for dieters and obese.

Famous Moringa… almost unknown!

In the developing world Moringa leaves, pods or leaf powder have started to be used successfully as a complex food to nourish small children, pregnant or nursing women, AIDS patients and, of course, anybody else. Moringa is now famous and beloved in many parts of the world, while her fame is spreading and ignites exciting research projects in agriculture, forestry, botany, food and drug industries, health and cosmetics. Churches and charities, peace corps, and other humanitarian organizations (Educational Concerns for Hunger Organization, or ECHO, Trees for Life - based in Wichita, Kansas - an organization that plants food-bearing trees in developing countries) are interested in Moringa for obvious reasons. The first-ever international conference on the Moringa tree, as an indigenous resource for fighting against hunger and malnutrition has been recently organized. The International Eye Foundation (MD, U.S.A) is promoting Moringa for the prevention of childhood blindness (due to malnutrition) in poor countries. The National Science Foundation and National Geographic Society, together with other organizations, have started to finance the gathering of a collection of all Moringa species and to gather more information about its many healthful properties.
